Penske Goes "Green" for NBC's "Today Show"

READING, Pa., April 21, 2008 - Penske Truck Rental partnered with International Truck and Engine Corporation and Eaton Corporation, to utilize state-of-the-art hybrid commercial rental trucks as part of the annual NBC "Today Show" Lend a Hand series, which was held April 14-18.

Emmy award winning broadcaster Al Roker visited five U.S. cities and delivered live on-air much-needed items to select charities. This marked the fourth consecutive year Penske has donated to the effort 26-foot consumer box trucks.

New in 2008 was the use of International DuraStar Hybrid diesel electric trucks containing drive trains from Eaton.

The DuraStar Hybrid truck offers increased fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. During standard use, there is typically a fuel savings of 30-40 percent, as compared to traditional diesel trucks.

"We appreciate the support of International and Eaton for providing this leading-edge technology," stated Jim Feenstra, Senior Vice President - Marketing, Penske Truck Leasing. "Penske is excited to be among the first U.S. leasing companies to employ this medium-duty commercially viable technology. This hybrid technology represents an exciting new chapter in the trucking industry."
