Penske Truck Leasing Recipient of MSRC Grant to Operate Electric Trucks

Penske Truck Leasing has received a $1 million grant in California from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) to deploy five Orange EV electric terminal trucks in support of its customer Costco Wholesale Corporation.

Costco is operating these electric yard tractors at its Mira Loma, California, cross-dock distribution center that services Costco warehouse clubs in Southern California, Hawaii, portions of Mexico, and eastern Asia and Australia. The facility ships dry and refrigerated products to retail locations while also fulfilling select e-commerce orders.

Over the past 30 years, the MSRC has helped co-fund clean fuel vehicles, technologies and strategies that have helped remove as much as 14,000 tons of air pollution from Southern California’s skies.
