Penske Logistics has earned placement as a 2015 Top Green Provider by Food Logistics magazine. The list focuses on sustainability in the global food supply chain.
“Our company appreciates being spotlighted by Food Logistics magazine in this manner,” said Mike Costanza, Penske director of environmental services. “Our logistics company is operating natural gas vehicles for a leading grocery retail customer.
“We continue to refresh our fleet with newer model year vehicles and see year-over-year improvements in our average miles-per-gallon metrics,” he said. “This along with our other internal initiatives related to energy reduction, support of clean energy generation, and waste recycling helped us earn placement on this list.”
Penske Truck Leasing, the parent company of Penske Logistics, is a transportation industry leader in the areas of spec’ing, operating and maintaining fleets of traditionally-fueled vehicles as well as alternative-fueled vehicles that includes natural gas, propane, electric and diesel-electric hybrids.
“The 2015 Top Green Providers list is our largest ever, signaling the growing importance of sustainability throughout the global food and beverage supply chain,” noted Lara L. Sowinski, editor-in-chief.
