The entire Penske organization congratulates Roger S. Penske on receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Mr. Penske received the award from President Donald J. Trump during a ceremony held yesterday in the Oval Office.

According to a White House statement:

This prestigious award is the Nation's highest civilian honor, which may be awarded by the President to individuals, who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.

Roger S. Penske is a well-known American success story. Guided by his father's favorite phrase, "effort equals results," Mr. Penske built his one car dealership into Penske Corporation, a leader in global transportation services. On the track, Mr. Penske built and led Team Penske into the most successful motorsports team in history. Mr. Penske's passion and unrelenting drive have established him as a business and motorsports icon.

Earlier today, President Donald Trump announced that Roger Penske will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized by President Trump and awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. I am humbled by the President’s acknowledgement of our achievements in business, in motorsports and in our community. Thank you to President Trump for this special recognition. On behalf of my wife Kathy (Penske), our family and our nearly 65,000 team members worldwide, it will be my privilege to accept this prestigious award,” said Roger Penske, Chairman of Penske Corp. via a statement.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest civilian award of the United States. It recognizes those people who have made "an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.”

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. (“PTL”) today announced that Tokyo-based Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (“Mitsui”) has acquired a 20.0% limited partnership interest in PTL from General Electric Capital Corporation (“GECC”). Following Mitsui’s investment, GECC will continue to own a 29.9% limited partnership interest. The transaction will not have any impact on Penske Corporation’s management and control of the company as it will continue to own a 50.1% interest in PTL and control the General Partner.

Hino Trucks recently held a ceremony to commemorate the delivery of its 10,000th truck to Penske Truck Leasing. The ceremony took place at Hino’s plant in Williamstown, W. Va., in front of its assembly team members and top management from Hino and Penske Truck Leasing.
